HouseLogix has released its HHIM (HouseLogix Honeywell Integration Module) security adapter.
This small serial module allows direct Control4 system interaction with almost any Honeywell or Ademco alarm panel, regardless of firmware version. The new adapter is available now for purchase online directly from HouseLogix. Pre-orders will be fulfilled immediately.
The custom integration division of HouseLogix says that it found that many clients with Honeywell alarms wanted to operate their system through Control4 but didn’t want to deal with the expense and hassle of upgrading the security panel. As a result, the development division of HouseLogix started working on a hardware adapter and Control4 driver that would allow easy integration of the alarm panel’s system state, sensors, arming, disarming, and other standard keypad functionality.
The result is a product designed for the custom integrator that mounts directly to the Control4 controller and eliminates the need for PCBs in the security panel box. The Control4 driver gives real-time two way feedback for wired and wireless zones. A watchdog timer for detecting communication loss with the panel has also been implemented. Since the RS232 connected adapter acts as a keypad, it allows security system programming through the Control4 OSD.
In addition, the HHIM works with pre 9.1 firmware panels, supports multiple partitions, opened/closed relay status’ and can be software upgraded in the field to enable new features which may be released.
