H-P Products will offer a new model for its Hide-A-Hose retractable hose management system that provides whole-house cleaning convenience.

Hide-A-Hose stores up to 50 feet of central vacuum hose in in-wall tubing and automatically retracts after the user is done cleaning. The new HS5000 valve, manufactured in the USA, has new features that allow for easier installation and operation.

To address user concerns that the valve doors were too large and took up too much wall space, the new valve door on the HS5000 is 38 percent smaller. Measuring just 4.4 inches by 6.3 inches, the new valves are unobtrusive but still allow for easy access to the central vacuum hose.

After a user pulls out the hose to the desired length, a flip of the switch on the hose-locking system keeps the hose from being pulled back into the tubing before the cleaning is done. Updates were made to the switch and hose lock to make the locking mechanism smoother and more efficient.

The HS5000 also features a new mini cuff so the hose can connect directly to cleaning tools like dusting brushes and upholstery tools without the use of a handle. The HS5000 has an improved on/off switch located in an easy-to-reach position, and an enhanced rubber door seal.

“The original Hide-A-Hose system has been one of the most popular central vacuum add-ons because of its performance and ability to keep the hose out of sight,” said Sarah Busch, marketing manager at H-P Products. “All of these new user-friendly updates have just made the system more efficient and powerful, in a smaller, unobtrusive package.”
