Industry Veteran Steve Glatzl Passes Away

Longtime industry veteran and principal The New York Marketing Team Steve Glatzl unexpectedly passed away on July 3. He was 70 years old.

 Steve Glatzl was a Vietnam veteran and a mentor to many in the CE industry.

A lifelong resident of Westchester County, NY, Glatzl started his career in consumer electronics in 1968 at the Harvey Electronics where he worked his way up to general manager.

In 1986, he founded a manufacturers rep company, which later merged with The New York Marketing Team, where he worked until 2013. He continued to be involved in the key business decisions of the company until his passing.

Glatzl was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the First Air Cavalry Division from 1967 to 1968. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was discharged in 1972 with the rank of sergeant.

During his 40-plus years in the CE industry, he was a mentor many successful people and known for his hard work and unquestioned integrity.
