Rob Lane has been promoted to content director of Installation. He joined the magazine as editor in 2020.
“This promotion reflects the growth and expansion of Rob’s responsibilities across every aspect of Installation’s content, including print, digital, webinars, and special projects,” comments Anthony Savona, managing director for Future B2B’s AV Technology Group. “Rob has been an outstanding champion for the brand and has a strong vision for its continued growth in the commercial and residential integration industries. I look forward to working with him on realizing that vision.”

He is also the former owner/publisher of residential-facing B2B title HCD (Home Cinema Digest), and editor of numerous consumer AV magazines, including What Plasma & LCD and What Home Cinema for Future, in a journalistic career spanning 30 years.
David W Smith recently joined the Installation editorial team as content writer following a successful 20-year career as a freelance writer. He has written for B2B publications including Stadia, Passenger Terminal World, and Traffic Technology International, reported on cricket for Channel 4 and Channel 5 and sports for The Times, and has worked as a sub-editor for The Irish Post, The Guardian sports desk, and The Times business desk.
