IOGEAR has announced the Wireless 3D Media Kit (GW3DMKIT), an advanced wireless AV streaming device.
With four HDMI and one component input, the GW3DMKIT allows five different AV devices to be connected and conveniently placed without wires running to the HD display or projector. Ideal set-ups with the Wireless 3D Media Kit can stream content up to 100 feet through standard walls, even enable multi-room scenarios.
With a myriad of wireless signals beaming around the home, the IOGEAR Wireless 3D Media Kit ensures latency-free, multi-room streaming by leveraging the Wireless Home Digital Interface (WHDI) for connecting HD devices to a TV. The WHDI standard allows wireless delivery of uncompressed HDTV throughout the home with video rates of up to 1080p in the 5Ghz unlicensed band. WHDI also consumes less power than other wireless protocols.
The Wireless 3D Media Kit consists of a wireless 3D transmitter and wireless 3D receiver with inputs including HDMI, Component and USB. Users can connect a Blu-ray player, DVR/Set-top Box, DVD player, Media Server, computer or even a VCR and stream the content 100 feet through the air.
The USB port on the GW3DMKIT is ideal as a wireless keyboard / mouse connection, allowing mobile control of a home theater PC or laptop within the 100 foot radius.
“The ability to place a TV anywhere within 100 feet of a source component provides great value in a home or office AV setup,” said Bill Nguyen, senior marketing manager for IOGEAR. “The IOGEAR Wireless 3D Media Kit lets you conveniently share content around the home without the unsightly wires or a visible rack of equipment, something style and space-conscious users can appreciate.”
WHDI president Leslie Chard said: “IOGEAR has been developing wireless streaming products for many years so we are proud to have them as an adopter of WHDI’s multi-room audio, video and control connectivity standard. The certification is a testament to the quality of IOGEAR’s wireless products.”
