Portal.io has announced that Josh Willits has been appointed president of Portal’s Audio/Video Industry. In his new role, Willits will oversee day-to-day operations across the company, guiding each department’s efforts to make dealers lives easier.
“Josh has been with us since the start of Portal, joining us as employee number four when we acquired his overstock marketplace for dealers, ‘Invenshare.’ He’s worked with every team over the past five years and has played a vital role in getting us to where we are today,” says Kirk Chisholm, founder and CEO of Portal. “We’re at a stage now in the residential AV industry where we know our place and now we’re focusing on refinements to our platform and dealer growth. Josh was a dealer, built our original dealer happiness team, and is the perfect person to oversee operations for Portal in the AV industry. I’m excited to watch him grow in this new role.”
In his new position, Willits will oversee the various teams at Portal, from Dealer Happiness and the Supplier teams to Marketing and the Software Development team. To illustrate this focus, one of Josh’s first initiatives will be to assemble a formal Dealer Advisory Board to help inform and drive the dealer experience. Kirk Chisholm will remain as CEO, focusing on high-level strategy and expansion.
Additionally, Portal recently added Patrick McCarthy as Communications Director. McCarthy joins Portal after spearheading the editorial efforts at Technology Integrator magazine, and will work to improve the quality and frequency of communications, including new features, updates, Portal Select offerings, and more.
