KEF Hires New Business Manager

KEF America has appointed 30-year industry veteran Richard Colburn to the position of Reference business development manager.

Marlboro, NJ–KEF America has appointed 30-year industry veteran Richard Colburn to the position of Reference business development manager. Colburn joins the KEF America team to manage the sales of the company’s flagship line of loudspeakers–the Reference Series. In this newly created position, Colburn will lead KEF’s North American sales efforts to promote its Reference Series products.

“We are excited about the experience that Richard brings to the KEF sales team,” said Alec Chanin, president of KEF America. “We are confident that under Richard’s direction the reputation of our legendary Reference Series will continue to be enhanced as will the sales of this flagship line.”

KEF’s Reference Series features Radical Uni-Q point source arrays, with elliptical dome tweeters and titanium dome.

“I’m glad to join a brand with such a celebrated heritage,” said Colburn. “I look forward to applying my experience in building the sales of the high-end Reference line and focus on promoting the lifestyles and performance benefits this product delivers to even the most discriminating audiophiles.”

Colburn is one of the four original founders of Mirage Speaker Company. Prior to joining KEF America, he served as vice president of sales and marketing of PMC USA, a U.K.-based professional monitor and audiophile speaker manufacturer. Richard also worked as national sales manager for Bryston/PMC. His career in the sales of audio products includes leadership positions at Audio Products International, AudioQuest, and Nakamichi.
