Leviton Appoints Villalobos to Lighting Position

Little Neck, NY — Leviton has appointed Leonardo Villalobos to the position of technical support engineer for the company’s Lighting Management Systems business. Based in Costa Rica, Villalobos will support the sale of the company’s integrated line of “green” solutions for commercial lighting applications through relationships with distributors, contractors and end-user customers throughout Central America. In this role, he will focus on providing technical and engineering support for the company’s extensive offering of occupancy sensors, large-scale dimming systems, relays and day lighting systems.

Villalobos joined Leviton as a spec engineer in 2006, furnishing product training to distributors and engineers and working with the company’s sales team to pre-sell products. Prior to joining Leviton, Villalobos worked as a sales associate for Almacen El Electrico, an electrical distributor based in Costa Rica, where he conducted product training, managed inventory and supported the development of structured cabling and lighting control solutions.

“With Leonardo’s professional background, talent, capabilities and the business opportunities offered through the emerging Central American market, Leviton will position itself as frontrunner in globalization of sustainability solutions — the prime business initiative of this century,” said Abel Ramirez, director of Lighting Management Systems Sales for Leviton Latin America.

Villalobos attended Instituto Technologico de Costa Rica and holds certifications as an electronics engineer and networking technician. He also completed courses at the school’s Cisco Networking Academy.
