Lutron Honors Designs, Top Dealers

During its annual Excellence Awards banquet at CEDIA EXPO, Lutron honored its dealers’ top projects and inducted three more companies itnto its Residential Systems Provider Hall of Fame.

The Excellence Award competition was created as a way to recognize the industry’s best Lutron lighting and shade control projects. This year’s Excellence Awards honored HomeWorks providers for HomeWorks and Sivoia QED projects completed between January 1, 2009 and June 20, 2010.

The winners were announced at a ceremony on Thursday, September 23, at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. A total of 10 awards were presented, celebrating the industry’s best Lutron lighting and shade control projects around the globe.

Here are the winners:

Best Green Project – Advanced Residential Systems
Best Retrofit Project Using RF Products – Maverick Integration
Best Total Light Control Project – DSI Entertainment Systems
Best Shade Project – The Specialty Group
Most Unique Application – Abernathy Electric
Best International Project – Smart Business
Best Integration with Third-Party Equipment – The Electric Design Company
Best Showroom/Experience Center – Intellis Group
Best Use of Lighting Control in a Home Theater – Electronics Design Group
Best Dealer/Designer Collaboration Award – Bonded Systems Design & Automation

Lutron also added three additional companies to its Residential Systems Provider Hall of Fame, an honor created in 2009 to reward excellence and dedication in the marketplace. Here are this year’s honorees:

1. Integrated Media Systems of Sterling, VA
2. Powerful Systems of Los Angeles, CA
3. HED South of Hollywood, FL

Companies were evaluated on eight points:
• years of doing business with Lutron
• loyalty
• reputation
• dedication to their business
• market expansion efforts
• execution of initiatives
• project innovations using Lutron products
• revenue growth

The 2009 inaugural inductees were:

3. Doherty Design Group of Indianapolis, IN
4. Electronics Design Group of Piscataway, NJ
5. Electrical Design and Control of Alpine, CA
