Madison Fielding Shifts to Onshore Production

Madison Fielding, maker of PlanterSpeakers, a line of weatherized planter-style outdoor loudspeakers, has moved manufacture of its Flagstone planters from an off-shore producer to a Midwest U.S. factory.

Madison Fielding, maker of PlanterSpeakers, a line of weatherized planter-style outdoor loudspeakers, has moved manufacture of its Flagstone planters from an off-shore producer to a Midwest U.S. factory.

An official said the move will shorten production lead time and improve quality of fabrication and finish of the Flagstone, the company’s premier series of products. Assembly of speaker components into the planters, which are made of molded poly resin, will continue to be done at Madison Fielding’s facility in Port Chester.

“Everything about the look of these speakers—the contours, the color, the finish—will make you think you’re looking at a stone planter,” said Art Powers, president. “They look substantial, expensive, and authentic, and just as important, you won’t find a weatherized outdoor speaker that sounds better on a stone, concrete, or tile surface.”

The Flagstone is offered in two sizes and features a 3-way driver design for both high fidelity and loudness outdoors. The larger model measures 22-inch square, and 23.25-inch tall. The Mini Flagstone measures 20.5-inch square and 20.5-inch tall. Both are available in black, gray, and limestone. Both are designed with an American-made, down-firing woofer and front-firing mid-range driver and tweeter. A removable insert for plantings simplifies repositioning or relocation of the speakers. Flagstone speakers carry a five-year parts and labor warranty.
