InFocus is ending its seven-year distribution deal with CSE in the UK, handing its home entertainment projector line exclusively to Midwich, a leading trade-only distributor of AV, IT, and consumer electronics technology products.
Initially hired as exclusive distributor of InFocus commercial projectors in May 2009, Midwich will assume full responsibility for the home cinema portfolio, which includes the upcoming ScreenPlay SP8602 HD projector.
Commenting on the move CSE’s Ian Severs said, “We’ve enjoyed great success with InFocus but we’re shifting our strategic focus to the luxury custom installation market, whose challenges are somewhat different.”
Darren Lewitt, AV director at Midwich, added, “InFocus is a very important and strategic brand for Midwich. As well as our commercial focus, we have a dedicated division that concentrates on the custom installation and consumer channel. As a member of CEDIA, the addition of the ScreenPlay range will strengthen our proposition in the custom install and independent retail markets.”
Midwich has appointed a dedicated InFocus projector specialist to support the significant investment the distributor has made in its CEDIA and independent retail teams over the past 12 months. These teams now boast over 10 dedicated account managers.
