Brisbane, CA — Monster has appointed of consumer electronics industry veteran and retailing expert Gary Yacoubian to the newly created position of vice president of strategic development.
Yacoubian had been with MyerEmco, the Gaithersburg, Maryland-based specialty audio-video chain and custom installation company, for the past 21 years, serving as the company’s president and CEO for the past five years. While at MyerEmco, he led many of the chain’s most successful efforts to integrate custom installation practices with innovative retail initiatives
Yacoubian is also the current chair of the Consumer Electronics Association’s executive board, a position to which he was appointed in October 2008.
Monster CEO Noel Lee, noted that thanks to his many years at MyerEmco, one of Monster’s top M5 retailers, Yacoubian will be able to bring Monster his unique expertise and ability to literally see through the eyes of a retailer, as opposed to those of a manufacturer.
“This will help us as we focus even more intensively on developing precisely the right kinds of products and sell-through programs our dealers need to help them grow their business,” Lee said. “We’re thrilled to have him as part of our senior Monster management team.”
