Capitol welcomed more than 40 attendees to its 2014 Capitol Learning Institute (CLI) sessions on April 9 & 10 in Eagan, MN where integrators were able to participate in eight training courses during the two-day event, taught by Key Digital, Legrand, Middle Atlantic, Nest, NuVo, Russound, Wilson, and Zektor.

“It’s interesting that many of these vendors are involved in the home automation market, with the classes led by NuVo and Nest receiving the most interest,” noted Curt Hayes, Capitol’s president and CFO. “There’s a lot of interest in home automation right now, and our customers feel that this market is poised for strong growth in the months ahead.”

In NuVo’s CLI training course, participants learned how to design and install the company’s wireless whole house audio solutions. The 90-minute class even included a “hands-on” system set-up. Nest offered an in-depth look at its widely acclaimed thermostat and smoke and carbon monoxide alarm during its 90-minute session, as well as an overview of the advantages of becoming a certified installer.

Capitol’s monthly CLI training program is the focal point of the Capitol Learning Institute, Capitol’s comprehensive education program. It features top manufacturers providing practical, in-depth training on the most relevant new products and technologies, as well as proven tools and techniques for increasing sales through cost-effective marketing and business management practices. These programs take place on campus at Capitol’s Eagan, MN headquarters, online, and on-site at customers’ facilities by special arrangement.
