San Antonio, TX — AV mounting and furniture manufacturer, OmniMount, has joined forces with San Antonio retail partner Bjorn’s…Just Bjorn’s to support the company’s participation in the 2008 Bike MS: Valero Bike to the Beach Ride to benefit multiple sclerosis (MS).

Spearheaded by Bjorn’s inventory control manager Art Suarez, this year’s event was the specialty audio and video retailer’s third year as an official team participant. The team’s connection to the disease inspired its team’s support and drive to find a cure.

Bjorn Dybdahl expressed his sentiments, “We are extremely proud of Art Suarez for putting the team together; he’s done an amazing job and the team raised lots of money to support a great cause. In addition, we owe a big thanks to OmniMount for their participation as a sponsor; they’ve been terrific!”

The Bjorn’s…Just Bjorn’s team welcomed 28 company participants, a significant growth from its original four member team, to the two-day bicycle challenge. Thanks to the generous support and sponsorship from OmniMount, with donation of product, and Bicycle Heaven, a local San Antonio bike shop, the team embarked on the ride on Saturday, October 4 and hopes to achieve its goal to raise $14,000 for the cause – more than $10,000 has already been raised.

The 19th Annual Valero Bike to the Beach welcomed 3,500 cyclists October 4 – 5, 2008 to ride toward a cure for multiple sclerosis. The two-day, 160-mile ride from San Antonio to Corpus Christi, was on pace to raise $1.7 million to support research to end MS and fund programs through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter. In 2007, the Valero Bike to the Beach raised $1.6 to fund research and programs for the estimated 20,000 individuals and their families affected by MS in 174 Texas counties served by the Lone Star Chapter.
