On Controls Adds Power Over Ethernet Capability to Hardware

On Controls introduced Power Over Ethernet (POE) capability to their lineup of On-link gateways this month.

On Controlshas introduced Power Over Ethernet (POE) capability to their lineup of On-link gateways this month. POE is a power distribution and wire management solution that is of high value to integrators, and the addition of this new feature is in direct response to feedback from On Controls’ dealer network.

On Controls introduced Power Over Ethernet (POE) capability to their lineup of On-link gateways.

Wired versions of the On Controls On-link gateways are connected using CAT-5 cable and the POE feature eliminates the need for an outboard power supply. On-link gateways are available in IR, RS-232 and Contact Closure versions. “We are aware that POE streamlines installation and reduces the clutter associated with outboard power supplies,” explained On Controls CEO Itai Ben-Gal. “POE will simplify the lives of integrators employing the On Controls solution in both residential and commercial applications.”

Best Buy recently selected On Controls to run its AV demos in 470 Magnolia locations, with additional outlets and applications planned. Despite the influx of new AV components into their showrooms every three months, Best Buy corporate employees are able to manage all changes from their headquarters and update each store’s system as new models arrive. This enables Magnolia sales staff to access new product artwork and specifications instantly from an iPad as they are interacting with consumers.
