Pakedge Extends Warranty to 3 Years

Pakedge Device & Software is extending the warranty period of its products from one year to three.

Pakedge Device & Software is extending the warranty period of its products from one year to three. The new three-year warranty is applicable to all products sold after January 1, 2014, with the exception of beta products, products given away during donations and contests, and Fortinet Resale Program routers: the FG-30D, FG-30D-UTM, FG-60D, FG-60D-UTM, FG-90D, FG-90D-UTM, and FG-100D models. Products sold before January 1, 2014 are still covered under the company’s previous one-year warranty.

The warranty extension is one initiative that Pakedge has launched to help its systems integrators and resellers address the future-proof requirements from their customers in the face of ever-changing technology. With the continued convergence of AV and IP systems, increasing use of mobility platforms for content creation and consumption, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), cloud-based applications, and the emergence of the Internet of Things (IOT) devices, today’s networks are expected to last and be supportable for years. A longer warranty period provides peace of mind.

The future-proofing of technology is a familiar concept to Victor Pak, CEO of Pakedge. Pak has a strong background in engineering and decades of experience in the aerospace and networking industries. “Change is constant and a necessary part of our industry. As the technology evolves, people use it in new ways to do more. Four years ago, we predicted that video streaming would be a significant percentage of network traffic within a home, and integrators would be installing priority-based network systems for quality video streaming. Today, that prediction has become a reality. With technology and business models constantly changing, the successful integrator must look ahead and prepare for things that are two, three, or even five years in advance by making sure that existing systems can scale to accommodate that growth. Customers don’t want to throw away existing infrastructure every time something new comes up. They just expect their networks to last for years and accommodate the latest technologies, applications, and services.”

Many Pakedge resellers share this belief and welcome the policy change, as the network has become a critical enabler of their customers’ daily life experiences. “Installing networks is an important part of my business and plays a big role in how the AV systems perform,” said George Georgiou, founder of Cinetec Integrated Systems. “As an integrator and owner, I understand that each job is not just a sale, but an extension of me. A longer warranty provides clients with that peace of mind and lets them know I will be there for them.”

The three year warranty builds upon existing future-proofing programs that Pakedge offers to its resellers, including free lifetime technical support and product firmware and functionality upgrades.
