St. Paul, MN–Capitol Sales Company has been named by Panasonic as a national CEDIA distributor effective March 1, 2006. Panasonic says the move is in line with its strategy to aggressively enhance its national dealer coverage in the expanding flat panel and digital category as well as the shift in how and where consumers purchase consumer electronics, especially home entertainment systems.
“Capitol Sales’ stellar performance in the installer/CEDIA channel and their unparalleled product knowledge and technical support is a perfect fit,” said Ed Wolff, vice president, distribution sales at Panasonic. “Capitol Sales also has a long history of integrating Panasonic telephone systems with state-of-the-art A/V technologies in residential markets. We are extremely excited to have Capitol focusing on the installer/CEDIA based segment of the market.”
“It makes sense to designate Capitol Sales as a distributor for the CEDIA installer market because we already have a strong CEDIA dealer base coupled with a reputation as the industry expert to help dealers integrate multiple-branded products into a homeowner-friendly system,” said Curt Hayes, president and CFO of Capitol Sales Company.
Capitol Sales has been an active member of CEDIA for more than 14 years while serving this growing market. “By shifting from an eight-state territory for independent retailers to servicing the growing national CEDIA-installer based market, we are better able to supply the most sought after and top-rated Panasonic products,” Hayes said.
Capitol Sales will stock and support all consumer models of Panasonic video technologies from plasma and LCD to DLP and LCD projection. Additional Panasonic products that support home entertainment include audio components such as A/V receivers and DVD recorders.
