Panasonic’s 4K Displays Receive Crestron 4K Certification

Panasonic's 4K Ultra High-Definition LCD displays (models: TH-98LQ70 and TH-84LQ70) are now officially 4K-certified by Crestron Electronics. The Panasonic displays join a rapidly expanding family of Crestron Connected devices.

Panasonic’s 4K Ultra High-Definition LCD displays (models: TH-98LQ70 and TH-84LQ70) are now officially 4K-certified by Crestron Electronics. The Panasonic displays join an expanding family of Crestron Connected devices.

The large professional displays are now part of a certified end-to-end distribution solution for 4K. As part of this industry-first program, Panasonic submitted its 4K displays to Crestron to ensure that they:

•Deliver true 10 Gbit/s data rates to get the signal to its destination
•Interface with DigitalMedia™ to handle cable lengths found in integrated AV systems
•Work with other 4K products in a DigitalMedia system.

As demand for finely detailed and incredibly lifelike images continues to grow, compatibility with industry’s leading control and automation system manufacturer further expands the potential application of 4K in a variety of industries.

“Under our 4K Certified program, our engineers rigorously test 4K products to ensure they work when used with DigitalMedia in a matrix-switched environment, and only those that can are awarded the Crestron 4K Certified logo,” said Dominick Accurso, manager, integrated partner program at Crestron. “We are proud to welcome the Panasonic 4K displays to the distinguished roster of 4K-certified products.”

Crestron tested Panasonic’s proprietary DIGITAL LINK single-cable technology input, an HDBaseT-derived connection that transmits 4K video, audio, and control commands from the source device to projectors and displays over very long distances, further reducing TCO and installation complexity. Because the DIGITAL LINK input on the display is compatible with the HDBaseT output of the Crestron DigitalMedia switcher, a direct HDBaseT connection can be made to the display without any need for an external receiver or room box.

This superior blend of functionality, economy, and reliability makes Panasonic display solutions the first choice of rental and staging companies, installers and resellers, and professional users in the public and private sectors.
