The Philips 6000 series TVs feature Google Cast, which allows consumers to use a mobile device to stream movies, music, sports, and more from thousands of apps to the new TVs. The Philips BDP7501 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player is compatible with 4K Ultra HD discs and plays back content at four times the resolution of standard Blu-ray players.

"Best Buy Canada is thrilled to partner exclusively with Philips to bring the latest technology in 4K televisions to Canadians, as we pride ourselves on delivering truly amazing home theater experiences to our customers,” said Best Buy Canada’s VP of merchandising, Jason Abrams.

With Google Cast, consumers use their phone to search, browse, queue, and control the TV from anywhere in the home. Consumers simply tap the Cast button in Google Cast-enabled apps such as Netflix and YouTube to stream content to their TV with no additional logins or downloads required. The new Philips 6000 series offers four screen sizes—43-, 49-, 55-, and 65-inch classes—and in addition to Google Cast features HDR to deliver images with startling brightness, contrast, and color.

The new Philips BDP7501 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player is a compact design that includes HDR support for true-to-life picture quality when used with an HDR TV.

“We’re very excited to have Best Buy Canada exclusively launching our most advanced 4K products,” said Karl Bearnarth, executive vice president, sales and marketing, P&F USA, Inc. “Consumers rely on Best Buy to offer the latest, most innovative products available and we’re delighted that they’ve added our Google Cast TV line and UHD Blu-ray player to their lineup.”
