Planar Systems, Inc. has launched its first-ever AIA/CES approved continuing education online learning seminar.

The customized coursework provides the resources and training needed for architects, interior designers and AV specifiers looking to incorporate digital solutions within their projects, as well as opens up the lines of communication between dealer and designer.

Partnering with AEC Daily, an e-learning company for architects, engineers and other construction professionals, Planar has unveiled their initial education courses online, which not only provide AIA/CES Learning Units, but also offer insight into the architectural and technological possibilities presented by home theater design.

The decision to collaborate with AEC Daily has provided the display solutions leader with the opportunity to provide useful education that enables architects and designers to speak a common language with Runco dealers. The approved courses help both to better understand the scope in which technology and design can be married for the best outcome.

“In my experience, delivering tailored approved education courses help to foster stronger relationships with the local design and building communities,” said Bob Dacundo of Phoenix Audio Visual, “By launching courses for designers, Runco is helping to develop more successful, harmonious outcomes for our clients.”

Runco has introduced “Understanding Home Theater Design for Optimizing the Experience,” an hour long program which describes how to create the best in a home theater experience with accurate visual reproduction, calibration, and screen selection, to create the ideal viewing environment. The AIA/CES-approved course was constructed by industry experts Greg Campbell and Jeremy Sternhagen, both of Runco, and grants each member 1.0 AIA/CES HSW/LU Hour.

Additionally, Planar has an additional continuing education course, “Designing Media Walls: Imagery, Video and Information on Digital Canvases,” which provides a primer on video wall technology by reviewing key specification items, system components, design considerations, case studies and a review of video wall trends. This one-hour AIA/CES-approved online course was designed by Jennifer Davis and also provides members with 1.0 AIA/CES HSW/LU Hour; additional features include interactive architectural application sketches and inspiration galleries.

“At Planar, we want to equip the architecture and design community with the tools they need to serve their clients,” said Jennifer Davis, vice president of marketing for Planar, “With the launch of the new AIA/CES-approved continuing education courses, we hope to further this mission, while enabling designers, architects, and consultants alike to better understand how to design incredible spaces utilizing video technology.”

Each course is self-paced and available online 24 hours a day, seven days per week; allowing both the design and building communities, as well as audio-visual professionals to benefit from the flexibility of easy access. Additionally, the coursework is eligible for a host of other professional CE credits from various organizations including:

·American Institute of Building Design (AIBD)
·National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI)
·Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI)
·National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)
·Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE)
·Alberta Association of architects (AAA)
·International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI)
·New-Foundland Association of Architects (NLAA)
·Quebec Order of Architects (OAQ)
·Construction Specifications Canada (CSC)
·Ontario Association of Architects (OAA)
·Saskatchewan Association of Architects (SAA)

Additionally, members of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AICB), may self-report this learning activity for consideration of AICB Learning Units. The continuing education credits may also help fulfill the required Health, Safety and Welfare (HWS) Learning Unites required each year.
