Austin, TX–D2Audio, manufacturer of customizable digital amplifiers, has established a research and technology collaboration with Polk Audio.
The project centers on the development of Polk’s LC265ip in-wall loudspeaker, the world’s first Internet Protocol (IP) speaker that will feature digital amplifiers, electronic crossovers, DSP circuitry and TCP/IP control modules built into the speakers.
D2Audio is working closely with Polk engineers to develop the cutting-edge digital amplifier and DSP technologies for the LC265ip.
“D2Audio has the kind of technology and experience to help us realize our vision of the ultimate in-wall loudspeaker,” said Al Baron, Polk Audio’s product line manager. “D2Audio’s digital amplification expertise will be instrumental in achieving high output with audiophile sound quality far beyond that offered in conventional distributed audio speakers. With the kind of DSP circuitry we are developing in collaboration with D2Audio, consumers and integrators will enjoy unprecedented power to optimize sound quality to overcome placement and environmental limitations.”
