Polk Audio and Definitive Technology have launched a new series of in-wall and in-ceiling, vanishing speakers for custom installs.

Definitive Technology’s latest collection of custom install products is called the DT Series, made up of five speakers that offer exceptional sonic performance and seemingly disappear into a wall or ceiling. Models include the DT 6.5R, DT 6.5STR, DT 8R, DT 6.5LCR, and DT8LCR. Prices start at $179 and go up to $249 for each model.
Definitive Technology’s high definition drivers with polypropylene mineral-filled cones and rubber surrounds produce a clear, natural sound. Ceramic-coated, annealed-aluminum dome tweeters reveal even the most delicate detail in recordings. All DT tweeters have low-diffraction swivel mounts (except the stereo DT 6.5STR) that help improve dispersion, overall midrange, and off-axis response.
Polk Audio’s newest line-up of in-wall/in-ceiling custom install speakers is called the V Series and spans six different SKUs ranging from $199 to $249 in price: the V60, V60 Slim, V6s, V80, V65, and V85. Created to meet the needs of more modest audio budgets, the new Polk V Series in-wall/in-ceiling speakers complete the highly popular Vanishing Series.
Like other speakers in the series, the new V models have wafer-thin sheer-grilles that are nearly invisible, fit smoothly flush, and are acoustically inert for wide dispersion and uniform sound-coverage even in larger rooms. Square grilles are also available for in-ceiling 6.5-inch and 8-inch models. The V Series also offers the same secure, vibration-free installation with Polk’s patented rotating cam system.
