Polk Audio will open its first retail kiosk in Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Polk Audio will open its first retail kiosk in Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Scheduled for a late September opening, the 295-square-foot kiosk, under the Polk logo, will be part of the upcoming AIRMALL City Walk shopping strip that will be located in the airport’s A/B concourse. More than 15 million Southwest Airlines and AirTran passengers pass through the concourse each year.

Polk will feature the company’s personal audio products, including UltraFit and UltraFocus headphones and the I-Sonic ES3 tabletop audio system. Consumers will also be able to enjoy demos of Polk’s SurroundBar, which turns any television into a home theater experience. The kiosk will be staffed by full and part-time Polk employees, and will be open for business 5:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays.

“Our new Polk kiosk at BWI is our way of supporting the local economy while increasing our brand awareness and experimenting with new and different merchandising programs in a controlled environment,” said Ben Newhall, Polk Audio’s senior vice president, marketing and sales. “Baltimore is our hometown, and we’re thrilled to invest in this new and exciting venture, right in our own backyard.”

AIRMALL at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport offers a unique shopping and dining experience encompassing 120,000 square feet of concessions space. BWI is one of the fastest-growing airports in the United States, with AIRMALL featuring 40 restaurants and bars, 20 specialty retail units, and 15 news and gift stores.
