PS Audio is launching the next incarnation of its AC Power Regenerators, the PerfectWave Power Plant 5 and PerfectWave Power Plant 10, which feature patented PS Audio technology that regenerates perfect sine wave, ultra-low distortion AC (alternating current) power to connected AV components.

In alternating current circuits, energy storage elements such as inductance and capacitance may result in high impedance and distortion of energy flow, which can easily damage high-performance audio-video components. Based on the principle of power regeneration, as opposed to conditioning or filtering, PS Audio’s AC Regeneration technology has protected AV devices from “standard” electrical power for almost two decades, the company says.
At the PerfectWave Power Plant 10’s core, an internal high current analog amplifier is designed to produce ultra-low distortion, ultra-low output impedance, and highly regulated new AC power for connected equipment. Sine wave enhancement technologies from PS Audio, including MultiWave and CleanWave provide control of the Power Plants.
The PerfectWave Power Plant 10 delivers up to 1250 watts of continuous power and 70 amps of instantaneous current delivery; the PerfectWave Power Plant 5 delivers 1000 watts of continuous power and 50 amps of instantaneous current. The highly regulated output of both AC Regenerators produces output impedance 100 times lower than any Power Plant previously released.
PS Audio’s PerfectWave Power Plant 10 features five programmable IsoZones
PS Audio’s PerfectWave Power Plant 10 features five programmable IsoZones, providing separate differential mode filters to clean noises generated by the connected equipment itself. The unit’s heat sink designs provide cooling with no need for fans. IsoZone filters and fan-less design allow the PerfectWave Power Plant 10 to operate silently yet with incredible robust performance and perfection, fulfilling a life long demand of serious audio and home theater enthusiasts.
Control of the PerfectWave Power Plants is possible via touch screen, or a web interface via PS Audio’s Globalnet service. An onboard Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) meter and oscilloscope visually display and compare the AC Power from the wall to the new, Regenerated AC produced and driven by the Power Plants.
PS Audio believes that custom installers will find the remote web access and programming via PS Audio’s Globalnet Server interface useful for re-booting control systems, intelligent sensing and control of connected components, and reacting to varying operational conditions.
“The PerfectWave Power Plant series is the single most important advance in AC power management and performance the industry has seen in over two decades,” said PS Audio CEO Paul McGowan. “The PS power engineering group has completely redesigned the interface as well as the regenerator itself and the results are simply stunning. I couldn’t be more excited for our customers and our industry.”
The PS Audio PerfectWave Power Plant 10 has a suggested MSRP of $4,499.99 domestically, $4,999.99 internationally. The PerfectWave Power Plant 5 has a suggested MSRP of $2,999.99 domestically, $3,499.99 internationally.
