Stafford, TX — In an e-mail announcement to customers at the end of last week, Texas-based regional distributor NAM Electronics, Inc. announced that due to “extremely challenging” economic times and the “need to be lean and extremely focused,” the company would cease operations.
In the announcement from NAM president Robert “Rabitt” Blake, it was also announced that its sister company, New Age Marketing — a sales representative firm — would continue operating and that it would benefit from a new organizational focus.
Blake informed those NAM customers who had been purchasing ELAN-, Aton- and Sunfire-branded products that a new program had been negotiated with those vendors so that the dealer could now buy direct at preferential pricing with free freight. And customers who had been purchasing Onkyo products through NAM were told that two new regional distributors — WAVE Electronics in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas and Eagle Distributors in Louisiana — have been set up to handle their needs.
