Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) announced that the company is continuing its commitment to the custom market through enhanced dealer programs and initiatives.

ACU training courses are offered in a variety of channels, including online interactive training, on-site training all over the world through RTI and its distribution partners, and downloadable videos — available on the company’s website — that also can be displayed on Apple devices via podcast. The ACU’s curriculum ranges from full-day seminars covering broad subjects such as RTI’s Integration Designer programming software, to more focused training on specific subjects such as iPad and iPhone control, and two-way driver development. In addition, many classes allow dealers to earn CEDIA continuing education units (CEUs).

The training courses help to prepare for the RTI Certified Dealer online exam. The RTI Certified Dealer program is part of the company’s continuing effort to ensure its products are sold through the proper channels by trained custom-integration professionals. An additional part of that effort is RTI’s Internet policy. A disclaimer has been added to RTI’s website notifying consumers that Internet sales of its products are not authorized, and that RTI products sold online will not be covered by any type of warranty, or be eligible for any type of service or support.

“RTI has always put a heavy emphasis on training, and we have invested a great deal of time and resources in ensuring that our ACU program is among the very best in the industry,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “For dealers, ACU is a convenient way to keep pace with our quickly changing industry, in addition to being a conduit to becoming a certified dealer.”

Other RTI incentive programs include the Control Bucks and Dealer Accommodation programs. Control Bucks are given to integrators who complete on-site training courses, and can be redeemed for RTI products and other merchandise. In addition, RTI dealers accumulate Control Bucks as they purchase RTI products. RTI’s Dealer Accommodation program offers installers an affordable way to interact with an RTI control system at either their homes or showrooms by offering very aggressive accommodation pricing for their demo systems.
