RTI to Bring Control Solutions to CEDIA

RTI is set to bring an array of new solutions to its booth 3400 at CEDIA.

RTI is set to bring an array of new solutions to its booth 3400 at CEDIA. Here is a selection of some of the new products it will show:

Integration Designer APEX

The backbone of RTI’s control and automation solutions is the company’s Integration Designer platform. At CEDIA 2016, RTI will demonstrate how the new Integration Designer APEX software can speed up the installation process while maintaining ease of comprehensive customization. APEX features a number of enhanced capabilities engineered to make system design more efficient than ever, including automatic generation of the graphical user interface and programming, a new IR library, multiroom programming, advanced graphic resizing, and more.

KX10 In-Wall Touchpanel

The recently released KX10 in-wall touchpanel brings comprehensive onscreen management of electronic systems to any installation. Featuring a 10.1-inch 1280×800 WXGA-resolution multitouch capacitive LCD display, the KX10 provides ample screen real estate and is programmable to the finest detail. More than a control device, the KX10’s advanced engineering makes it a convenient high-resolution display where users can watch HD video via the HDBaseT video input. In addition, users can answer the door using the KX10’s built-in intercom. Capable of providing direct control of devices via IR or RS-232, full two-way control is possible when the unit is used as part of a complete RTI ecosystem.

KX3 In-Wall Touchpanel Keypad

Sporting a 3.5-inch color LCD display and five customizable hard buttons, RTI’s KX3 in-wall touchpanel is a hybrid device that combines the capabilities of both a touchscreen controller and a control processor within a single cost-effective unit. “Under the hood” is a robust central processor offering a myriad of benefits including two-way control and feedback over electronic systems via IP and RS-232, and an astronomical clock to schedule and automate events. A built-in 2.4 GHz ZigBee antenna provides connectivity with RTI wireless remotes. The KX3 offers both wired 10/100 BaseT and wireless ethernet for viewing video from network security cameras, and remote programming updates. Other advanced capabilities include voltage sense ports, relay control, a proximity sensor to wake up the unit as a user approaches, and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the touchpanel backlighting. It is also equipped with convenient room status LEDs as well as a camera and microphone for video intercom functionality.

XP-4 Control Processor

RTI’s new XP-4 control processor features an HDMI video output and two inputs for an onscreen display control interface and switching capability, which allows the television to become an integral part of the control system. The XP-4 also provides bidirectional communication with supported third-party electronics through an integrated 2.4GHz ZigBee transceiver and two bi-directional RS-232 ports. An ethernet connection allows for software downloads, IP control, and support for the RTiPanel and Virtual Panel, while a host of other control options are available such as relays, IR outputs, and voltage sensing.

ZW9 Z-Wave Interface

The ZW9 Z-Wave interface is designed to bring simple and cost-effective monitoring and control capabilities to a wide range of Z-Wave-enabled systems and devices via an RTI control system. Using the Z-Wave wireless protocol, the module provides the communication link between RTI systems and lighting, door locks, thermostats, and other Z-Wave-enabled devices. Eliminating the need for a different app for each device, the ZW9, combined with an RTI XP processor, provides users with unified control and monitoring over all devices directly on their RTI user interface.

Z-Wave Lighting Control Solutions

RTI’s new Z-Wave lighting control solutions are designed to allow users to easily manage lighting elements both locally and from the convenience of an RTI user interface. The devices utilize Z-Wave RF technology, creating a wireless network that integrates with RTI’s home and commercial automation systems via the ZW-9 Z-Wave interface module. Well suited for new construction and retrofit installations, the product line consists of light switches, dimmers, a lamp module, and receptacles, and it requires no new or specialized wiring. For instance, the innovative battery-operated Anyplace switch requires no wiring of any kind, offering incredibly flexible installation possibilities. With a classic, elegant design, the devices are engineered to blend into nearly any décor, and easily scale to installations of nearly any size, providing control for up to 200 devices.
