Russound has completed two senior-level personnel appointments, in addition to the hiring of a third-party business development agency to support the company’s international sales efforts.

Colin Clark, who joined Russound in 2014 as director of product development, was promoted to the position of vice president of product development. Rajeev Agarwal returns to Russound as vice president of engineering, following positions with Bose and his own wireless development company, Nitro Networks. Russound also contracted industry veteran Pete Baker’s The BIG Corp. (Baker International Group) to help grow the brand’s presence in European and Asian distribution channels.

“In the past two years, Russound has enjoyed its most focused, aggressive, and ultimately successful product programs in years, and it’s due in no small part to Colin’s unshakable commitment to the company,” Porritt said. “With his unerring input and energy, Russound is bringing to market new products and sales programs that not only reflect our customers’ installation needs, but he also has their collective backs with safeguards against unlicensed internet sales of our products.”

Porritt added, “Looking ahead, it only makes sense to promote Colin to a role that further taps into his talents and expertise in our industry, and to reinforce our efforts with talent that supports the growth of our company and our customers.”

In his new position, Colin Clark will continue to oversee product development, in addition to all stages of product management, from design and procurement to manufacture and marketing. In particular, Clark will look to further grow the availability of Apple AirPlay and popular streaming services in Russound’s product selection.

“With nearly 50 years under its belt, Russound is one of the sharpest and most nimble companies in the business,” said Clark. “From the day I first joined, the company has been entirely supportive of my work. It’s gratifying to be rewarded with such a prestigious role in the organization.”

Re-joining the company after a four-year absence is Rajeev Agarwal, who returns in his former role as vice president of engineering. Agarwal, an acknowledged leader in audio and wireless technologies, will develop and implement strategies to continually improve quality, manage costs, and accelerate time to market.

Pete Baker whose 25-year experience in the custom installation market includes roles as an integrator, in manufacturing (as VP of Sales and Marketing, RTI), and now, as founder and president of The BIG Corp., will support Russound as an EMEA and APAC international sales manager.
