Samsung Embraces CI Channel with 5-Star Program

Solutions Offer Resources to Increase Custom Integration Profitability and a Strengthened Distributor Network

Underscoring its commitment to custom installers, Samsung Electronics America is introducing its 5-Star Solutions program, featuring a new CI-dedicated web portal, expanded control partnerships, IP integration, and enhanced sales and distribution support. 

“We want to ensure that custom installers have priority access to the product, information and support they require. That’s why we’re launching the Samsung 5-Star Solutions at CEDIA,” said David Carter, VP of sales for Samsung Electronics America.

A core component of 5-Star Solutions, the web portal offers whitepapers, training, install tips and additional resources for CI professionals including access to a support network of trained Samsung technology experts and a technical support hotline. Directories for Samsung’s entire line of Home Entertainment products, including the ultra-premium QLED Series, The Frame lifestyle TV, soundbars, and the new UBD-M9700 4K UHD Blu-ray Player are also included. 

“As part of 5-Star Solutions, our new website equips custom installers with deep knowledge and a wealth of resources to get the job done,” said Giulio Ambrosi, VP of product strategy, consumer electronics. “This is further backed by our comprehensive product range and some of the strongest partners in the industry like Control4 and Savant. Samsung is committed to improving custom installers’ profits and end-user satisfaction.” 

The new UBD-M9700 4K UHD Blu-ray Player is a channel-exclusive offering. Integrated with Control4, Savant, and AMX IP control drivers, the M9700 is auto-discoverable. All of Samsung’s 2017 4K UHD TVs will receive a firmware update that will be demonstrated at the CEDIA show to meet this same level of IP control compatibility. 

On the distribution side, Samsung has expanded its network of authorized Samsung Custom Install Distribution partners in top markets nationwide in order to provide CI dealers with greater access to all Samsung products.

“We’re confident that CI professionals will find that Samsung’s total home offering and post-sale support are stronger than ever,” Ambrosi said.
