Sharp is dedicated to high resolution technology.
“Sharp’s dedication to high-resolution technology is evident with the release of the newest AQUOS 4K Ultra TVs and the Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player,” said John Herrington, president, Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America. “Both products provide consumers with the ultimate viewing and listening experiences and illustrate Sharp’s commitment to cutting-edge technology.”
The new Sharp AQUOS Ultra HD TVs are THX 4K Certified, meaning they have passed more than 400 picture quality tests to ensure that every pixel delivers precisely the scene the direct intended. The AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TVs feature a new SPECTROS Rich Color Display, which boasts a 21 percent wider color spectrum than conventional LED HDTVs to produce more vibrant and diverse color. With SPECTROS, the Sharp AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV can display more color than any AQUOS TV has previously shown and sets a standard no leading competitors can match. Each frame is brilliantly recreated with more realistic landscapes, lush nature scenes and natural skin tones.
Sharp’s proprietary Revelation Upscaler displays all HD content at brilliant 4K Ultra HD resolution. AquoDimming Technology automatically enhances contrast for darker blacks and whiter whites. Powerful, real-time image processing analyzes the picture and adjusts the contrast individually for more than eight million pixels to reveal more detail in your HD content. AquoMotion 480 Refresh Rate delivers images that are crystal clear, even during fast action scenes.
The Sharp AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV is equipped with the latest codecs to enjoy 4K streaming from providers like Netflix. As 4K Ultra HD technology evolves, your AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV will be ready. The AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV features four HDMI inputs that can accept native 4K (3840 x 2160) signals at up to 60 frames per second (fps), for smoother motion and the latest standards in content encoding.

A larger screen makes the difference between TV and breathtaking TV. Sharp’s 70-inch (69.5-inch diagonal) class TV makes things larger than life with 16 percent more viewing area than a 65-inch class; and the 60-inch class provides 20 percent more viewing area than a 55-inch. Sharp’s 70-inch (69.5-inch diagonal) class AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV is the largest TV currently available with THX 4K certification.
Sharp continues to broaden their offerings in the high resolution space and for the first time, listeners can experience uncompressed, lossless, high resolution (24bit/96kHz) audio delivered without wires with the Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player. To achieve audiophile quality sound, the Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player uses the Wireless Speakers and Audio (WiSA) standard to transmit at the less densely packed 5.2-5.8 GHz band. This eliminates potential interference, which occurs when using other wireless technologies that transmit at more crowded frequency bands. Long cables can degrade a signal and that is why eliminating or reducing cables facilitates the delivery of audiophile-quality (24bit/96kHz) uncompressed audio.
This one of a kind Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player allows you to hear FLAC, WAV and DSD files at up to 24bit/96kHz fidelity. The media player supports an extremely wide variety of physical and digital media formats and can access files through a built-in SACD and Blu-ray™ drive or on a hard drive (via USB). It can also connect to a home network to access files stored on a network-attached storage device. The Sharp player transmits uncompressed Full HD (1080p) video to your TV wirelessly using the Wireless HD (WiHD) standard and included adapters. The Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player will allow you to access to your media library, through the easy-to-navigate compatible free mobile app, available for iOS and Android. The Sharp mobile app enables you to quickly create playlists, filter by genre, artist or album and access full file details, all from your mobile device.
Both the new 60-inch and 70-inch (69.5-inch diagonal) class Sharp AQUOS 4K Ultra HD LED TVs and the Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player are now shipping to retailers nationwide. To celebrate the launch of Sharp’s new high resolution technology, Sharp will host launch events where the Wireless High Resolution Audio Player will be demonstrated alongside the new Sharp AQUOS Ultra HD LED TV. Events are currently scheduled at the November 6 and 13 demo days.
