The Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) has added a new representative in the Reno market and member nationwide, Sierra Integrated Systems, formerly Integrated Home Systems.

Keith W. Burrowes is the owner of Sierra Integrated Systems, HTSA’s newest member.

The company, which was founded in 2002, is owned by Keith W. Burrowes.

“Membership in HTSA was a natural choice for our company,” Burrowes said. “I believe that joining HTSA will be beneficial for both our companies. The information exchange between our member organizations, the marketing services that HTSA generously provides, and the savings we can achieve from the vendors that are currently part of the HTSA program, all come together to make this a win-win.”

Richard Glikes, executive director of HTSA, noted that Sierra Integrated Systems is a great fit for the group. “In addition to residential projects, the firm has extensive roots in engineering and project management, which allows them to support large projects that demand disciplined attention to schedules and cost control. We were impressed by Sierra Integrated Systems’ financial stability to weather the volatility in the past recession and construction market dips, as well as their capacity to diversify its portfolio of clients to include a wide array of commercial, residential, system, and programming services.”

Sierra Integrated Systems started as a high-end, residential, low-voltage systems business known as Integrated Home Systems. As the company developed over the years, customer demands for the scope of the low-voltage systems for residential projects grew significantly. To further expand its commercial breadth, Sierra Integrated Systems merged with JC Productions Inc. in 2009 to include specialties in A/V systems for church auditoriums, sport arenas, and other large public venues.

Sierra Integrated Systems is comprised of 15 employees and has active electrical contractor licenses in both California and Nevada, and completed numerous projects in the Reno-Tahoe area, Portola Valley, Pebble Beach, and Danville. The firm joins Abbot’s Technology Design Group as HTSA’s Nevada-based members. Sierra Integrated Systems is a direct dealer in major product lines, including Lutron, Crestron, AMX, URC, SIM2, Kaleidescape, Cinematech, and Genelec.

The company’s commercial clients have included Microsoft, Employers Insurance, Army Aviation Support Facility, Sierra Nevada Corporation, and the Army National Guard.

Burrowes brings 28 years of experience in engineering, project management information technology, and finance from Bechtel, a leading engineering and construction company. Prior to Sierra Integrated Systems, Burrowes was CEO and president of LECTRIX LLC, a joint venture of America Electric Power, Bechtel, and Siemens.
