Irvine, CA–Home automation manufacturer Smarthome is participating in Ingram Micros Solution Center facilities, located in Santa Ana, California, and Buffalo, New York.
The Solution Centers are new facilities designed to address the needs of solution partners selling into small, medium, and enterprise IT, as well as consumer electronics markets. Smarthome, the only home-automation provider featured in the centers, offers its own branded products as well as devices from third-party manufacturers that allow users to monitor and control lighting, security, entertainment systems, and more.
Smarthome and Ingram Micro value-added reseller customers can use a Solution Center for proof of concept, live, hands-on product and solution demonstrations, remote access product and solution demonstrations, one-on-one technical briefings and trainings on Smarthome-solutions.
Smarthomes participation in the Ingram Micro Solution Center allows us to provide live demonstrations and proof of concept to resellers and customers who want to offer the latest home-control products to their customers, said Rajeev Kapur, vice president of sales and marketing of Smarthome Inc. We plan to continually refresh our product offerings featured in the centers so our most innovative and cutting-edge products and technology like Insteon are highlighted and available to Ingram Micros customer base.
Ingram Micros Technology Solution Centers give our business partners, such as Smarthome and our VAR customers, a competitive edge, said Kirk Robinson, vice president, customer solutions marketing, Ingram Micro U.S. More than 11,000 solutions providers have experienced the centers, and weve conducted over 560 hands-on and remote training sessions. As our leading home automation partner, we are pleased to feature Smarthomes products in the Digital Home living room.
The West Coast Solution Center opened in 2001 and is a 2,000-square-foot, fully equipped training lab and demo facility. The East Coast center in Buffalo began hosting training events in March of this year and had its grand opening in late April. Both centers feature a Digital Home showroom and Digital Signage products. Other top Solution Center providers include: Cisco Systems, Citrix, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Polycom, Viewsonic, and Sony.
Last month Smarthome’s Insteon-enabled products started shipping. Insteon combines the homes electrical wiring with radio frequency (RF) communications delivering remote control of lighting, security, entertainment systems, appliances, climate, and more.
