SnapAV Acquires Visualint, Adding to Security Line

SnapAV has acquired Visualint, a 15-person Florida-based company that manufactures “intelligent surveillance equipment” for the custom integration channel.

SnapAV has acquired Visualint, a 15-person Florida-based company that manufactures “intelligent surveillance equipment” for the custom integration channel. The purchase comes a little over a year after SnapAV’s purchase of the SunBriteTV outdoor video display brand.

The Charlotte-based company says that it is looking to enhance its current line of Luma analog and IP surveillance equipment with Visualint’s “impressive intelligent video surveillance products and services.”

“Visualint is a powerful addition to our existing surveillance offering,” said Alex Patrao, director of surveillance products. “In the short term, this partnership will put intelligent video-based analytics and professionally monitored video surveillance products into the hands of our dealers. Longer term, it will accelerate development in our highly regarded Luma product line.”

According to SnapAV, intelligent video analytics enable Visualint cameras to understand their environment, track objects, and automatically adjust to any sudden changes or events, resulting in “superior alerts and notifications.” These alerts can trigger customer events in control systems or even trigger events at video monitoring centers.

Visualint CEO Adrian Johnson is looking forward to the continuing relationship between SnapAV and his company. “Our advanced systems enable integrators to install, scale, and proactively manage hybrid security solutions,” he said. “We’re glad to have built this partnership with SnapAV and are excited about what the future holds.”
