Sonance Parent Co. Taps Aussie for Mktg Post

Dana Innovations, parent company of Sonance, iPort, and TRUFIG, is has appointed Simon Wehr to serve as director of marketing. Wehr will be responsible for overseeing marketing of all Dana Innovations—iPort, Sonance, and TRUFIG brands worldwide.

Wehr joins Dana Innovations with more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience working with architects, designers, and audio video professionals. Most recently he was with Clipsal Australia, a high profile brand within the lighting industry where he was responsible for the global strategic direction of the company’s C-Bus home automation and building control systems

He also worked with Sony Australia and Sony Music, and was a CEDIA Australia Board Member where he led the overall marketing initiatives for the organization in the Asia Pacific Region. Wehr also recently chaired the 2010 CEDIA Australia EXPO.

Also during his career Wehr has been an advisor on the Australian Residential Energy Management Forum, steering committee member to the Australian Industry Group’s Smart Living Cluster, and a contributor to the Victoria State Government’s Electric Vehicle Workshops.

As director of marketing for Dana Innovations, Wehr will be responsible for all aspects of marketing along with the development of alliances with custom audio video installation professionals and the design community as well as building relationships, with architects and designers for the iPort, Sonance, and TRUFIG brands.

Wehr will relocate to California from Australia and reside in San Clemente, with his wife Sarah, and two children.
