Dana Innovations, parent company of Sonance, iPort and TRUFIG, has started shipping the SONARRAY SR1 System by Sonance, the outdoor stereo satellite and subwoofer speaker system designed for a new market segment and more accessible price point.
The SONARRAY SR1 System will be sold as a package consisting of eight satellite speakers featuring 3.5-inch (89mm) anodized aluminum cones and one 8-inch (203mm) dual voice coil underground subwoofer.
The SONARRAY SR1 System presents itself as an 8-ohm load that can be driven by a standard AV receiver or power amplifier, making it a cost-effective step up from rock and weatherproof cabinet speakers, according to the company. The System is ideal for clients wanting to achieve high quality, stereo, evenly distributed audio in outdoor spaces of up to approximately 2000 square feet or 200 square meters. It is installed in a simple daisy-chain configuration, with the subwoofer connected to both channels.
“We showcased the SONARRAY SR1 System at CEDIA and the response was nothing short of incredible,” said Ari Supran, CEO of Dana Innovations. “SONARRAY bridges the gap between our highly acclaimed SLS (Sonance Landscape Series) and traditional lower cost outdoor speakers and our dealers immediately recognized the up-sell opportunity that it represents. Apart from the superior sonic performance and more even distributed SPL that is achieved, it allows the installer to take a bigger slice of the rapidly growing outdoor entertainment market segment.”
The SONARRAY SR1 speakers are hidden under plants or foliage, so the system won’t compromise the aesthetics of the landscaping. And because the speakers are placed along the perimeter of the property facing inwards, sound spillover to neighbor’s yards is minimized as well.
The SONARRAY SR1 System has an MSRP of $2499.
