Silicon Image announced that Silicon Image’s InstaPort technology is being featured across a broad range of Sony’s 2011 Bravia LCD TV models.

Silicon Image port processors offer advanced DTV features such as InstaPort fast port switching technology, built-in HDCP decryption engines, and four HDMI inputs in a highly integrated switching product designed to reduce BOM costs while boosting performance.

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with Sony to deliver the latest DTV technology innovations across a broad range of models,” said Tim Vehling, vice president of Silicon Image’s products business group. “Our port processors deliver key technology advancements in a cost-effective package to complement advanced functionalities found in Sony’s feature-rich LCD TVs.”

Sony’s 2011 LCD TV models feature InstaPort technology to reduce port switching time between HDMI-enabled devices connected to the LCD TV. InstaPort-enabled DTVs will work with any HDMI-connected source device to enhance the consumer’s HD experience by reducing the delay that typically occurs when switching between devices.

In addition to InstaPort, the port processor featured in Sony’s Bravia LCD TV models offers integrated HDMI receivers with dynamic equalization to deliver uncompressed HD video, multi-channel audio and data over HDMI cables.
