Sound Developments to Distribute DPI and Stewart in U.S. and Canada

Sound Developments Ltd. has made two new distribution appointments for the United States and Canada: Digital Projection, Inc. (DPI) and Stewart Filmscreen.

Sound Developments Ltd. has made two new distribution appointments for the United States and Canada: Digital Projection, Inc. (DPI) and Stewart Filmscreen.

“We’re honored and a bit humbled to be selected by two of the industry’s most respected manufacturers. Neither company has a history of distribution so we’re thrilled they saw value in our approach,” said Barry Wosk, president of Sound Developments.

Effective immediately, Sound Developments will market and stock DPI’s new M-Vision projectors [M-Vision projectors only], with retail price points starting under $10,000, and Cima by Stewart, a Made-in-the-USA line of quick-ship fixed frame and motorized retractable screens in two popular screen materials and a variety of sizes from 92-135-inch diagonals. Both products fall under Sound Developments’ nationwide next-day delivery model, meaning orders placed by 3pm Eastern are delivered the following morning by 10:30 am.

Continued Wosk: “We believe the synergy of the two brands combined with our line of home theater and lifestyle seating, Front Row, and our internal theater design expertise gives dealers a powerful edge in designing, quoting, and installing screening rooms, whether it’s traditional dedicated theaters or the newer trend of multi-purpose AV environments.”

Digital Projection will announce updates to the M-Vision line at CEDIA EXPO. Changes include a brighter LED projector (the Cine LED 1000 at $12,995 MSRP) and a single 320-watt DLP chassis with a variety of lens and color wheel configurations.

“DPI’s current and expanding M-Vision line offers great value and our new relationship with Sound Developments will allow us to provide even greater support and availability to the growing number of dealers that service this marketplace,” said George Walter, DPI vice president, Home Cinema.

Cima by Stewart responds to the growing demand for cost-effective screen solutions across a variety of standard projector installations while maintaining the quality Stewart dealers have come to expect over 66 years.

“A growing list of synergistic world-class brands, nationwide next-day delivery, and an independent rep network made us the obvious choice to help both companies grow their business in an intelligent and sustainable manner,” said Wosk.

Featuring DPI and Stewart, Sound Developments will exhibit as “the undistributor” in booth #3800 at next week’s CEDIA EXPO 2013 in Denver.
