Vista, California-based NuLED’s will offer a technology demonstration of its patent-pending Power over Ethernet (PoE) lighting technology at Booth 3444. The demonstration, in conjunction with Cisco Systems, will feature NuLED’s energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures powered via Cisco network IT infrastructure and controlled by Apple and Android mobile devices over the IT network.
Additionally, the demonstration will employ the Joulex Energy Manager application which monitors and controls energy usage across an entire enterprise to further increase efficiency and reduce energy costs. NuLED’s PoE LED light fixtures function as endpoints on the network and work alongside, and in conjunction with, other end points such as VoIP phones and security systems.
“This new technology will revolutionize the $75 billion lighting market,” said Sterns, who also serves as NuLED’s chief operating officer. “By combining the energy savings of traditional LED lighting with cost-effective low-voltage power distribution and the control and monitoring power of the internet-connected devices, NuLED’s proprietary technology will create entirely new business opportunities.
The technology is currently being beta tested at Cisco headquarters in Silicon Valley for commercial roll out in early 2013. NuLED’s plans to address the enterprise, luxury residential, and light commercial markets in the initial stages.
