Stewart Filmscreen President Named to Board

Stewart Filmscreen has appointed Douglas Brashear, who has served as company President since April 2013, to a key advisor serving as a member of the Board of Directors.

Stewart Filmscreen, international manufacturer of projection screens and specialty optical coatings for residential and commercial applications—and the only manufacturer in the category that has been producing 4K+ products since 1947—has appointed Douglas Brashear, who has served as company president since April 2013, to a key advisor serving as a member of the Board of Directors.

Brashear’s association with Stewart Filmscreen dates back more than fifteen years. He initially working for Stewart Filmscreen as an employee leading the sales team and then later as an independent commercial sales representative covering the AK, HI, WA, and OR territories. As a close friend of the Stewart family, Brashear accepted the presidency as a personal favor to Grant Stewart, CEO, on the condition that his tenure would be relatively short. With key accomplishments achieved, Brashear and Stewart agreed it was time for the transition and that a Board role was the ideal way for Brashear to continue his contributions.

“Douglas accomplished a great deal during his time as president,” stated Grant Stewart. “I am grateful for his help strengthening the organization. He not only led the Company’s efforts to bolster R&D efforts, launched a new web site, and streamlined operations to become more nimble and customer-focused, he was instrumental in recruiting new talent for Stewart Filmscreen’s sales and marketing teams. He is a trusted friend and I will forever be grateful for his selfless dedication to our company.”

Brashear’s last day in the office was August 29 and until a successor is named, CEO Grant Stewart will serve as president.
