SurgeX International has announced the worldwide introduction of its SXN1230, a fixed-installation unit that joins the SX1200 series of surge eliminators and AC power conditioners.

Housed in a 12- x 12- x 4-inch NEMA enclosure meeting code for use in ceiling plenums, the industrial-grade SXN1230 provides guaranteed surge protection for dedicated power lines.

Designed for international use in 230-volt systems with single-phase requirements, the SXN1230 incorporates proprietary SurgeX technologies, such as Advanced Series Mode surge elimination and Impedance Tolerant EMI/RFI filtering.

“The SXN1230 takes proven SurgeX technologies and incorporates them into a convenient solution that can be used in a wide range of situations where conventional rackmount power conditioning solutions are not appropriate,” SurgeX senior principal and founder Michael McCook said. “This allows a much broader range of environments to benefit from the peace of mind that only SurgeX can offer.”

“Offices and other workplaces often contain hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of computers and sensitive electronic equipment, all of which needs to be protected from the damage and downtime that power surges can inflict,” added Daniel Chang, managing director of IAG, which globally distributes the SurgeX brand outside of North America. “The NEMA format of the new SXN1230 allows businesses and other institutions to effectively safeguard their investments in a very unobtrusive way.”

SurgeX’s products featured Advanced Series Mode surge elimination, which, the company says, is completely non-sacrificial. According to the company, its “zero let-through” technology stops all surges up to 6,000 volts (unlimited surge current) without producing harmful side effects such as ground-wire contamination or common-mode disturbances.

As with its U.S., SurgeX’s international products are backed up by a full 10-year warranty from the manufacturer.
