SAN RAFAEL, Calif., July 12, 2005 - THX Ltd., the leading provider of
technologies, certification programs and quality assurance standards for the
entertainment industry, today announced that it is expanding its outreach to
the CE professional community by expanding the THX Certified Home Theater
Education Program with additional class sessions, regional training and new
course content. The program, which provides professional training on THX
technologies and advanced home theater design, will now offer education
programs for two distinct levels of THX certificationTechnician I and
Technician II.

The THX Certified Home Theater Technician I program provides CE sales
professionals and home theater enthusiasts with an overview of the THX
certification principles. Lasting a full day, the Tech I coursework is
designed to arm students with information about the theory of THX home
theaters and equipment performance. The THX Tech I certification is also a
pre-requisite for the Tech II level, which provides more intense training on
room acoustics and design, treatments and isolation, and audio-video
hardware selection and equipment placement. The Tech II coursework spans two
full days and includes a hands-on workshop detailing system setup and audio
calibration.

3Demand for the THX Certified Technician training has been strong ever since
THX first introduced courses in the 1990s,2 said Michael Franzi, Chief
Marketing Officer at THX. 3By expanding the schedule of courses and adding a
regional city tour, we will be able to support more professional technicians
and salespeople around the country, and educate them about the principles of
THX room design and value of product certification.2

Technicians who successfully complete the THX Certified Technician training
courses will be provided with a THX Certified Technician identification card
and listed in the THX Technician Directory at THX.com. They will also get
THX marketing materials specific to their level of training.
