TTE Describes Digital TV with Intel Architecture

TTE Corp. previewed a new television concept at the 2006 CES using Intel architecture and Hillcrest Labs' Spontaneous Navigation technology.

Las Vegas, NV–TTE Corp. previewed a new television concept at the 2006 CES using Intel architecture and Hillcrest Labs’ Spontaneous Navigation technology.

According to the company, the continuing convergence of the computer and the TV and the growing trend for networked homes, compelled TTE to develop a proof of concept digital television that will be a centerpiece of the new home environment. This new TV, the company said, will give consumers unprecedented ease in accessing, browsing and managing digital content on their TV screens, using the latest in user interface and content recommendation technology from Hillcrest Labs.

The “proof of concept” demonstrated what the company believes to be the future of digital television. It will redefine the way consumers experience entertainment as they interact with their televisions. Applications range from the ability to view, manage, and navigate digital photos, access the Internet, play music and watch HD movies from the PC, or personalize the TV for individual viewing preferences.
