Tweeter Opens Third “Playground”

The home electronics retailer has opened a third conceptual show store that replicates a completely integrated home.

Canton, MA–Consumer electronics retailer, Tweeter Home Entertainment Group, has opened its third “Consumer Electronics (CE) Playground” concept store in Burlington, Massachusetts. Joining its two sister stores in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Oak Brook, Illinois, the Burlington store looks to provide customers with the ultimate consumer electronics shopping experience.

“As we have continued to grow our business to focus on our service offerings, our identity as an entertainment solutions provider has slowly emerged,” said Tweeter president and CEO Joe McGuire. “We have evolved from being a traditional retail store with strong product knowledge skill sets, to a solution-centric demonstration and display model that also teaches our customers how to bring CE products to life through integration and installation.”

The new CE Playground store showcases whole-home control and automation through spaces specifically designed to replicate the rooms throughout a customer’s home. A fully integrated family room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, sports bar, and patio space are all decked out with the latest video/audio gear and controlled by one master remote control.

“We encourage and train our sales staff to think of our stores not as disparate places to sell product, but as a tool to teach our customers about what is available to them,” said Judy Quye, Tweeter’s senior vice president of sales, operation and installation services. “Our concept stores are truly consumer electronics playgrounds that take our customers on a journey that both excites and educates them about what is now possible in their homes.”
