A new driver from URC enables full control of DirecTV within its Total Control system and provides 60 “Favorites.”
URC’s latest Two-Way Control Module (driver) allows Total Control systems to access and control DirecTV satellite boxes (main and up to five slave boxes). The driver was created and is supported by URC. Authorized Total Control dealers can download the driver from the URC Control Room for free. DirecTV has more than 39 million subscribers in the Americas (20-plus million in the U.S.)
The module controls one primary satellite box and up to five slave (mini) boxes. It also offers two-way a user interface with standard control of satellite box and feedback of channel’s metadata. Two-way commands can query current channel and display current show title. One-way commands are directly linked to hard buttons and can be programmed into Macros. End-users can add/delete/rearrange favorites.
“URC is excited to deliver our latest two-way control module,” Cat Toomey, director of marketing, URC. “This new driver allows Total Control systems to access more than 195 HD channels and Dolby-Digital 5.1 theater-quality sound offered by DirecTV.”
