Vudu Expands Selection of 4K Titles with Dolby Vision, Atmos

Vudu has expanded its selection of 4K streaming titles in Dolby Vision to 33 with the launch of Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Intern” and “In the Heart of the Sea,” Dolby announced.

Vudu has expanded its selection of 4K streaming titles in Dolby Vision to 33 with the launch of Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Intern” and “In the Heart of the Sea,” Dolby announced.

“In the Heart of the Sea” also features Dolby Atmos object-based surround sound.

With the launch, 14 of Vudu’s Dolby Vision titles feature Dolby Atmos.

A Dolby spokesperson said the selection of Vudu titles in Dolby Vision will grow “in multiples by the end of the year when our partners Sony Pictures, Universal and MGM begin delivering titles in Dolby Vision as well.”

Netflix has also committed to delivering original content in Dolby Vision starting with “Marco Polo,” Dolby said.

Dolby Vision content is compatible with TVs that are either Dolby Vision-enabled or include the Dolby Vision VS10 chip, a universal high-dynamic range (HDR) solution that combines the ability to play back Dolby Vision content as well as other HDR profiles based on the SMPTE ST 2084 standard, Dolby said.
