Z-Wave Alliance to Host Smart Home Technical Training at CEDIA 2016

The trainings will give attendees a look at Z-Wave’s installer certification, delivering tools & technical knowledge on setting up a Z-Wave smart home mesh network.

The trainings will give attendees a look at Z-Wave’s installer certification, delivering tools & technical knowledge on setting up a Z-Wave smart home mesh network.

The Z-Wave Alliance will offer a comprehensive Z-Wave training course during CEDIA 2016 for integrators. “Z-Wave Technical Training: What You Need to Know” will offer integrators a look at the content available in the full Z-Wave Certified Installer Training. The CEDIA sessions will provide integrators with tools, best practices, protocols, and rules for successful Z-Wave installations.

“Z-Wave is the most popular smart home standard on the market. With almost every major brand and service provider making Z-Wave products, the installer community deserves the tools and training to leverage this ecosystem in their own projects,” commented Alliance executive director Mitch Klein, “We want to dive deep into the technical aspects of setting up a Z-Wave network and allow installers to boost customer satisfaction by giving them the best Z-Wave experience possible.”

The Z-Wave training at CEDIA will deliver content pulled directly from the Z-Wave Certified Installer Training, a series of interactive 90 minute tested online courses. Installers who choose to continue the online training will earn CEDIA CEU credits.

The training program, launched at CEDIA last year, delves into the fundamental concepts, foundation and architecture of Z-Wave. It will include how-to guides on adding nodes, configuring the mesh network and working with routers. The second half of the course takes a deeper dive into interoperability, building materials, signal attenuation and other installer-specific issues surrounding designing and implementing a Z-Wave network in a real-life smart home.

The course, “Z-Wave Technical Training: What You Need to Know” at CEDIA will be offered at the following times:
