Audio Authority is now shipping their new line of ADX multi-zone audio switchers.
The ADX audio switcher.
Available in 8×8 and 16×16 configurations, ADX audio switchers provide Digital Signal Processing capabilities. DSP features include a 10-band graphic EQ per zone, programmable by the installer using the ADX PC configuration tool or by the front panel of the unit.
Additionally, all 10 bands of zone EQ are controllable and viewable from most third party touch-screen controllers, using the ADX’s RS-232 or ethernet port. Going beyond basic treble and bass adjustment, custom installers can further fine-tune zone EQ settings in each area of the home, based on the unique acoustics of each room.
“Our new ADX audio switchers are truly an exciting breakthrough for custom installers,” said David Acton, product development specialist for Audio Authority. “For years, multi-zone audio systems have been limited to bass and treble frequency adjustment. This has been sufficient for end-user tweaking based on music content, but there hasn’t really been a viable option that approaches a ‘room-tuning’ concept for the custom installer. And this only scratches the surface of the ADX’s DSP capability – we’re working on some truly revolutionary signal processing advancements for the ADX and other Audio Authority products that should be announced at CEDIA 2011, so stay tuned.”
Available immediately, the ADX 8×8 (ADX-0808) and 16×16 (ADX-1616) audio switchers have a MSRP of $1,264 and $1,686 respectively. The matching 16-channel amplifier, scheduled for Q4 of 2011, will include a DB25 port for quick audio connections between the ADX and the amplifier.
