Como Audio Issues “Works With Alexa” Software Update

Software update allows hands free control for the Solo, Duetto, and Amico models.

Como Audio has issued a free software update that adds “Works with Alexa” support to the Solo, Duetto, and Amico models (Musica already has this capability). This new feature will allow basic hands-free control of the Como Audio products in conjunction with consumers’ own outboard Alexa device (the Como Audio models do not contain built-in microphones).

Users can also access music sources by voice like Amazon Music (they must be an Amazon Prime member), thousands of free Internet radio stations through TuneIn, and iHeart Internet radio stations through their Alexa device and have them play through the Como Audio music system.

The Como Audio music system’s display will automatically show a message prompting the update. Users can also manually check for software updates anytime at System settings > Software update > Check now.

For those who do not own an Alexa device or do not wish to use the “WWA” feature, Como Audio recommends still performing the update, since it contains other important new features.

As with any update, a stable Wi-Fi connection is required. It’s also important to never disconnect the power to the Como Audio model while it is updating. The update will require consumers to repeat the setup process after performing the software update, as existing present stations will be lost. They suggest making a note of the preset stations prior to performing the update to make it easier to tune and save stations again after the update. After the update, the preset buttons will return to Como Audio’s own preset Internet radio stations, which can be replaced by personal choices at any time. The update will not erase stations stored under “My Favorites.”
