Emotiva Audio Corporation has announced the immediate availability of the XSP-2 Differential Reference stereo preamplifier, an update of its XSP-1 model.
The XSP-2 (SRP: $1599.00) is a fully differential, fully balanced analog stereo control center. Created as an all-things-to-all-people preamp, the XSP-2 features fully balanced bass management for 2.1 or 2.2 systems, with high-pass and low-pass choices at 40, 60, 80, or 100 Hz, plus stereo or summed mono subwoofer outputs.
An on-board MM/MC phono section provides a clean hook-up for any turntable, and a dedicated headphone output with a current-mode feedback amplifier. Its external processor loop and Home Theater Bypass allow for integration with mixed media systems.
The XSP-2 improves upon the original with expandability, thanks to two rear panel expansion slots, and it ships with a fully balanced ESS based DAC module installed, adding inputs for HDMI-ARC, USB, coax, and optical inputs. Specially designed shielding keeps the digital section isolated from the pure analog signal path.
A fully balanced (two-signal, noise-rejecting) layout lowers noise and preserves detail. Voices are lifelike, bass stays tight, and dynamics feel effortless.
