Focal Unveils Littora Line for Outdoor and Wet Environments

Focal has introduced the Littora line, which features in-wall and in-ceiling speakers for yachts and spaces located in coastal and wet environments and outdoor speakers for spaces such as gardens, terraces, pool areas, outdoor kitchens, and more.

The Littora range includes two series of in-wall and in-ceiling speaker drivers: Littora 1000 and Littora 200. 1000 is the flagship series. Made in France and inspired by the Utopia line of in-wall/in-ceiling products, its two speaker drivers 1000 ICW8 and ICW10 offer outstanding outdoor sound. They are complemented by the 1000 ICW SUB10 subwoofer for a powerful and captivating sound. The Littora 200 is the second series — its 200 ICW6 and ICW8 speaker drivers combine compactness and performance, delivering wide sound coverage. Three outdoor loudspeakers are the final additions to the Littora 200 series: OD Sat 5, OD Stone 8, and OD Sub 12 for enjoying Focal sound in outdoor settings such as gardens, terraces, poolside and more.

Littora 1000 and Littora 200 In-Wall and In-Ceiling Speakers

To meet the needs and respond to the constraints of marine and coastal environments, Focal engineers have developed the Fiber IP cone for the Littora 1000 series and the Iris IP cone for Littora 200, combining very high sound quality with impressive resistance. These brand-new products blend performance, discretion, and ease of integration, but also perfect resistance to all weathers: in particular, they benefit from IP65 certification.

For a custom system and listening experience, an angled bracket is provided as an accessory, with three sizes available (6-inch/15 cm, 8-inch/20 cm, and 10-inch/25 cm), enabling you to determine the tilt of the speaker driver and play the sound in the direction of your choice. It is also possible to adapt the sound of the speaker drivers by clicking on the button on the back, depending on whether they are to be used indoors or outdoors.

Littora 200 Outdoor Speakers

Within this range, three products have been specially developed to bring sound to outdoor spaces — OD Sat 5, OD Stone 8, OD Sub 12. The OD Stone 8 loudspeaker is a model with a unique design, “pebble”-shaped and with sleek finishes; OD Sat 5 is a discreet and versatile loudspeaker supplied with its brackets for in-wall or in-floor installation; OD Sub 12 is a semi-buried subwoofer offering powerful and enveloping bass to systems.

The OD Stone 8 loudspeaker presents a unique “pebble”-shaped design and is available in three finishes: Limestone, Sand, and Basalt. These are “textured” for a rock effect. In addition, and for optimal adaptation to any type of outdoor environment, Focal also offers different finishes for its OD Sat 5 and OD Sub 12 products, available in Dark or Light finishes.

The Littora 200 products are equipped with IRIS IP cone speaker drivers, developed by Focal to withstand any weather conditions with no loss of sound quality. In addition to an anti-UV treatment, the OD Sat 5 satellite is IP55 certified, while the OD Stone 8 and Sub 12 are IP45 certified.

Beyond weather resistance, the cone included in the products’ speaker drivers helps to provide exceptionally high-quality outdoor sound reproduction. OD Stone 8 and OD Sat 5 also incorporate an Aluminum “M”-shaped coaxial tweeter for clear and defined treble reproduction in large spaces. Finally, the loudspeakers are equipped with a power transformer that allows them to be linked together within a 100-volt system. The transformer’s power can be adapted to manage the volume of each loudspeaker included in your system.
